Industrial Outreach Manager

The Cleveland Industrial Retention Initiative (CIRI) is a program of WIRE-Net for the City of Cleveland.  CIRI raises industry awareness of available resources to stimulate business and neighborhood investment, and foster job creation.  This position provides outreach to manufacturing and related companies in the City of Cleveland.  This position is responsible for identifying, articulating, and responding to company issues and concerns in an expedient manner.
 
Primary Duties: 

• Schedule and conduct interviews and plant visits to achieve outreach goal
• Identify company service needs; make appropriate internal and external referrals 
• Help plan, coordinate and implement networking and educational events for companies and partners
• Prepare timely and regular outreach reports as needed and requested

Qualifications: 
The ideal candidate will be a team player, who is motivated to accomplish outreach goals.  This individual will have strong customer service skills; with a proven ability to be self-directed, work independently, and plan and manage multiple tasks on a timely basis. This person will have knowledge of the city, local, county, state and federal government.  
 
Experience:
Experience and knowledge of manufacturing related business, workforce and economic development advocacy issues strongly preferred.  Three years experience in private or non-profit sector sales, marketing, public relations, and community or economic development, preferably a combination of these disciplines.
 
Education:
Degree in business or related field is required or equivalent work experience.

OTHER:  This is a part-time position that may become full-time; occasional evening and weekend work is required. This is a position requiring someone who has reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
