School-to-Career: Where Futures Matter
WIRE-Net supports the crucial relationship between Cleveland
schools, Cleveland students, and Cleveland employers. WIRE-Net's
School-to-Career program was designed specifically for high school
students interested in manufacturing careers, and has enjoyed
wide-ranging support of its efforts.
The goals of our School-to-Career program are to:
- Help schools prepare fully qualified trades people to enter the
manufacturing workforce
- Prepare students to enter the world of work by providing
employability & life-skills training to augment their
trade-specific training.
- Encourage employers to get involved in the schools by
providing apprenticeships and post-high
school employment to students and other support necessary to make the
vocational programs successful.
